Tiled Conservatory roof Conversions
What is LEKA?
The LEKA roof is an innovative warm roof system designed to create another usable room in your home, whatever the weather. Unlike conventional conservatory roofing which creates a heat trap in the summer and is cold and damp in the winter. The LEKA roof enables your extra room to maintain an ambient temperature all year round.
The LEKA roofing system is one of the most lightweight and energy efficient roofs on the market. The combination of the LEKA roof and A rated glass gives it an overall U-Value of 0.15 making it one of the best heat insulators of its kind.
Who are we?
Hampshire Windows is a registered Installer of the LEKA Conservatory Warmroof System we are a family run business with 30 years of experience in the construction industry, which includes; roofing, double-glazed windows, doors, conservatories, guttering, fascia's and soffits.
We specialise in replacement conservatory and porch roofing, making homes warmer and giving you an additional, usable, room all year through. With this new roof on your conservatory, you will transform the look of your house; adding to the value, aesthetic and kerb appeal.
Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) is used in the main structure of your new roof. This is a lighter and longer lasting alternative to Aluminium or timber. Most other conservatory roofing systems weigh nearly double that of the LEKA system because of using these products. An added benefit of using GRP instead of Aluminium or timber is that there is no risk of sweating, wood worm, moisture absorption or potential rotting.
Switching to a LEKA roofing system could not be easier with installation of the roof taking on average 2-3 days* including removal of your old roof.
* Subject to size of roof.
Leka System roof breakdown
Step 1 - GRP Rafters
First, 'Glass Reinforced Plastic' rafters are added to your existing conservatory window frames,
including a GRP structural ring beam, rafters and ridge. GRP is not prone to:
moisture absorption such as traditional timber
thermal bridging such as bulky Aluminium alternatives.
The beginning of your improved conservatory roof insulation.
Step 2 - Internal Leka Boards
Next, internal Leka sheets are added underneath the GRP rafters.
The Leka sheets are 100% waterproof and one third the weight of plasterboard.
These sheets have unique thermal qualities as well, but allow for a traditional
plaster skim finish to provide a nice visual aspect ready for painting afterwards.
Step 3 - Celotex Insulation
Insulated Celotex sheets are snugly fitted with a 15mm gap from the
internal Leka sheets.
Celotex is one of the UK's leading insulation specialists, providing high value
thermal efficiency and BBA certified and a significant benefit in achieving
a better conservatory roof insulation efficiency level.
Step 4 - Outer Sheets
Next, strong, load-bearing and insulated outer sheets are added.
These ensure less roofing bars and higher efficiency.
Our Leka outer boards have been engineered to offer:
A structural alternative to plywood
A significantly lighter alternative to any other roof covering board
A 100% waterproof outer covering
A thermally efficient board
Step 5 - Tiling
Finally, a high quality Tapco or Metrotile roof is added.
Both Tapco and Metrotile offer a classic roof finish dependant on your property
and required cosmetic look.
These lightweight alternatives to concrete tiles or slate really do make the LEKA systems
overall finish stand out as much as the main structures attributes do.
